Get your festive gear ready and join Brecon & District Mind for the Mental Elf 5k Fun Run on Sunday, November 30, at 12pm, starting from the Bandstand at The Promenade Park, Brecon.

Open to all ages and abilities, participants can walk, jog, skip, or run in this family-friendly celebration.

After last year’s event was cancelled due to Storm Darragh, organisers are thrilled to welcome families, schools, workplaces, and community groups back to the run. Mental Elf raises awareness of mental wellbeing while encouraging people to be active, connect with others, and have fun.

Participants and volunteers will receive a free National Trust family pass as a thank-you for supporting the event, offering the chance to enjoy the outdoors this winter and into 2026.

The day will feature festive activities, pop-up stalls, a raffle, children’s games, warming drinks, and more. Fancy dress is encouraged - from elf ears to Santa hats - with prizes for the best-dressed participants, including a special prize for the best-dressed pup.

Marie Davies, CEO of Brecon & District Mind, said: “We’re proud to be hosting the Mental Elf family fun run in 2025. This event is a wonderful way for our community to come together, enjoy some festive fun, get active and show support for mental health locally.”

Physical activity such as walking or running has proven benefits for mental wellbeing, helping to reduce stress, boost mood, and improve overall health. Mental Elf is non-competitive, inclusive, and designed to leave participants feeling energised and part of the community.

Tickets are available now at: https://breconmind.org.uk/mental-elf-2025/

Organisers are also seeking local sponsors, donations for goody bags or the raffle, and volunteers to help on the day.
