Brecon Chamber of Trade has been awarded a grant.

The grant will help fund the delivery of Brecon Classic Car Show and Brecon Classic Motorcycle Show. These two popular events help to bring the community together and create positive, memorable experiences for local residents and visitors alike.

Andrew Powell announced that the Brecon Classic Car Show will return for August 2027 with the Brecon Christ College venue secured.

The Classic Motorcycle Show will take place on Saturday, April 3, in Brecon Market Hall, showcasing iconic machines, restored legends, and vintage engineering.

Brecon Little Theatre has received funding towards expanding its artistic output and community engagement programme and to invest in theatre equipment.

The grant will enable the group to increase the number and variety of productions it presents and provide more opportunities for local performers, as well as broadening access to high quality cultural experiences for audiences in Brecon and the wider area.

Brecon Dial a Ride

A grant has been approved for Brecon Dial a Ride to keep one of it’s five Brecon buses on the road in and around Brecon. This much needed service provides transport for older and disabled people who depend on this compassionate and reliable door to door service, fostering independence and social connectivity, and enabling access to facilities that many people take for granted, such as getting to shops, GP’s, church, etc.

The service welcomed new vehicles to its fleet earlier this year following a huge donation from an anonymous supporter with links to Brecon. The $50,000 (approximately £36,500) contribution secured funding for two replacement wheelchair-accessible minibuses.

With this new grant they will be able to keep providing transport for Brecon and the surrounding areas.
