A GP from Brecon who raised more than £4,000 for PAPYRUS by skydiving has thanked everybody who donated to his cause.
Dr Mark Heneghan plummeted 12,000 feet on his birthday to help raise vital funds for the national charity dedicated to helping save young lives after seeing “too many young suicides” in his career.
In the UK, suicide is the biggest killer of people under 35 - every year, more than 1,600 young people take their own lives - more than 200 are school children and more than 90 are university students.
The daredevil doctor of Ty Henry Vaughan, wrote to The Brecon & Radnor Express and said: ‘I would like to thank all those that donated to my sky dive, which I did in September to raise money for ‘Papyrus’, a charity for the prevention of young suicide.
“We have now closed the donation page, and I am delighted to report that, thanks to your generous contributions we have raised £4,500. In appreciation of your kindness may I wish you all Nadolig Llawen, Merry Christmas.”
