The sun came out for Builth Carnival week this year, which hosted a huge range of events, providing interest for all.
On Sunday, June 15, the first day of the carnival saw a Car Treasure Hunt set out By Epynt Motor Club.
The car hunt was followed by a Children’s Treasure Hunt set out by Mark Hulin-Taylor on the Monday. Trish Thomas hosted a story event for children also on the Monday.
Tuesday saw the Children’s Sports Day with Builth Fire Service in attendance to cool the kids down afterwards, followed by a 5K run organised by Builth & District Running Club.

The countdown to the carnival continued on Wednesday (18 June) with Jarv’s Music quiz in The Rugby Club and Bingo called by Allan Taylor in The Greyhound on Thursday.
Friday held an exciting event in the form of a Three-Legged Beer Race through the Town which was supported by all the local pubs.
And then finally the big day had arrived on Saturday, June 21, with the Carnival in full swing. The main Act Defying Gravity wowed the crowds along with the Latch Dancers.
Families were treated to a free circus and creepy crawlies stand, as well as inflatables, donkey rides and more. Local charity stands provided the families with a range of activities also.
Carnival Queen, Chelsea Jones,18 was crowned by last year’s Queen Alys Parry.


Local singer Tom Offa capped off the weekend with a fantastic performance in the beer tent.
Builth fest chairperson Rachael Hughes said: “I couldn’t be more prouder of our small community. There was a buzz and great atmosphere throughout our carnival week.
“We as a carnival committee are always overwhelmed by the support of everyone from helping to their attendance at what was another amazing, successful carnival – Best yet!“
