Buses will replace trains on the Heart of Wales line between Llandrindod Wells and Llandovery from Saturday, April 18 to Thursday, April 23, while essential maintenance work is carried out.
Network Rail said the work will take place between Llandrindod Wells and Llanwrtyd Wells and will include vegetation management and level crossing maintenance, aimed at keeping the railway safe and reliable for both passengers and freight services.
During the period, buses will replace trains between Llandrindod Wells and Llandovery. An amended rail service will continue to run between Llandovery and Carmarthen and Swansea.
Some train times will also be altered, with services running earlier or later than usual. Passengers are being urged to plan ahead and check before they travel, as journeys may take longer than normal.
A Network Rail spokesperson said, “This essential work will help us maintain a safe and reliable railway for everyone who uses the Heart of Wales line. We’re sorry for any inconvenience caused and thank passengers for their patience while we carry out these improvements.”
Passengers can check the latest travel information with their train operator or via National Rail Enquiries.
