A sponsored hair cut has helped to raise money for the Care 4 Calais charity appeal which is a volunteer-run charity delivering support to refugees living in northern France and Belgium.

After visiting the notorious camp known as ‘the Jungle’ in France, Ceridwen Rolinson had 24 and a half inches cut off her hair. Ceridwen, 24, who lives in Alexandra Road, Llandrindod Wells, is a volunteer with the Red Cross in their charity shop.

She has set a target of raising £750 and to date has raised about a third of that money. The hair cutting was carried out by Beth Tudor at Simply Cuts in Tudor Lane in Llandrindod Wells and the hair is being donated to The Little Princess Trust, the Herefordshire charity which provides real-hair wigs free of charge for children and young people who have sadly lost their own hair due to cancer treatment and other illnesses.
