The Head of Christ College, Alex Wallace, and Director of Marketing and Admissions, Gemma Roberts, recently travelled to London to attend the awards ceremony, hosted by Independent School Parent magazine at The Law Society.
Shortlisted as a finalist for the second year running, the announcement marks a significant achievement for the school, recognising the exceptional educational experience it provides for its pupils and the wider school community.
What the awards had to say:
Announcing Christ College as the winner, the speaker commented: “The regional awards are very much about place, and this school understood that beautifully. Its identity and educational experience are deeply connected to its surroundings and to the character of the wider community, giving pupils both opportunity and a strong sense of belonging.”

In the award submission, Christ College highlighted its holistic approach to education, combining academic excellence with character development, pupil wellbeing and a variety of opportunities both inside and outside the classroom. This balanced approach encourages pupils to develop their individual strengths, explore their interests and build the skills and confidence they need to thrive.
At the heart of the school’s ethos is a deep-rooted sense of belonging. Pupils are part of a close-knit and supportive community where friendships flourish, shared experiences create lasting memories, and every individual is encouraged to feel valued and supported.
What it means to the school:
Winning the award is a significant recognition of the passion, care and commitment demonstrated by the entire school community. It celebrates the school’s distinctive educational experience and the dedication of its staff in creating an environment where pupils can flourish academically, socially and personally.
