COUNCILLORS could approve the closure of a Radnorshire village primary school this morning.

Powys council’s cabinet is being asked to approved the closure of Nantmel Church in Wales School when it meets at County Hall, Llandrindod Wells at 9.30am.

If the cabinet agrees to publish the statutory closure notice the 34 pupil primary would close at the end of the December term. Rhayader Church in Wales school could take pupils from Nantmel.

A consultation, that ran from December and was extended to April, received 127 written responses.
