A BRECON man is among three men who have been jailed following a television investigation into badger baiting.
Cyle Jones, aged 31, of Cwrt Tarell, Newgate Street, in Llanfaes, was jailed for 18 weeks after admitting two animal welfare charges.
Two other men, 24-year-old Ryan Harrison, of Maesfield Road, Caldicot, and Thomas Young, 20, of East Pentwyn, Blaina admitted cruelty offences related to badgers, deer and a boar at Merthyr Tydfil Magistrate’s Court.
The three were investigated by animal welfare charity the RSPCA after the BBC Wales Investigates programme, shown in May, 2018, called The Secret World of Badger Baiters.
Brecon man Jones admitted causing unnecessary suffering to two dogs he had failed to seek professional veterinary care for after they had suffered injuries.
Harrison admitted 15 badger and animal cruelty offences and Young pleaded guilty to six charges. They were given custodial sentence of 22 weeks and 20 respectively.
