The four people who were arrested following last week's protest at a Presteigne industrial site are set to appear in court today.

Susan Bagshaw, aged 65, of Clawdd Helyg, Commins Coch, Morwenna Grey, aged 41, of Penrallt Street, Machynlleth, Ruth Hogg, aged 39, of Stanley Road, Aberystwyth, and Tristan Dixon, aged 34, of Osprey Drive, Netherton, Huddersfield, were arrested at the scene.

On Friday, activists from the group Palestine Action smashed through windows at Teledyne Labtech Ltd in Broadaxe Business Park and began dismantling the factory of the American-owned firm, forcing closure of site.

Activists took apart offices, broke computers and doused the building in red paint, before taking to the roof to bring production at the factory to standstill.

The two protesters who rushed to the roof were talked down by police in the early afternoon.

Palestine Action has said the reason behind the protests is to oppose Labtech’s involvement in supplying military hardware to Israel.

A spokesperson for Dyfed-Powys Police said: "The four people arrested following a break-in at a property in Broadaxe Business Park, Presteigne, Powys, on Friday, December 9, have been charged and will appear in court today.
