A Newbridge-on-Wye man has been banned from driving for almost two years after being found to be more than twice the drink-drive limit.

Philip Raymond Marsh Wilson, 61, pleaded guilty to drink driving and failing to stop, after a road accident on April 23 this year.

Wilson was found to have 174 milligrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of blood - over twice the legal limit.

Alongside a £120 for each offence, magistrates at Llandrindod Wells ordered that Wilson must pay £85 costs and a £34 surcharge.

He was also disqualified from driving for 21 months, although this can be reduced by 21 weeks if he successfully completes a drink-drive awareness course.
