A Three Cocks man has been fined after admitting being in charge of a vehicle while over the drink-drive limit.

Arthur Jones, 79, appeared at Merthyr Tydfil Magistrates’ Court on October 9.

He admitted being in charge of a Vauxhall Combo on a road at Gwernyfed Park on May 29, after consuming so much alcohol that his breath contained 56 microgrammes of alcohol per 100 millilitres, above the legal limit.

Jones was fined £150 and ordered to pay £85 in prosecution costs and a £60 surcharge.

His driving record was endorsed with 10 penalty points. He was ordered to pay the amounts by November 6.
