A PENSIONER injured following a crash on the A40 near Brecon is in a stable condition in hospital.

The man, described as an elderly male by police, was the driver of a Renault Clio involved in a collision with a lorry at around 11.45am on Monday, October 24.

He was taken by air ambulance to hospital in Cardiff with what were described as serious injuries.

Police today said the elderly casualty is in Cardiff and in a stable condition.

The driver of the lorry was taken by ambulance to Abergavenny's Nevill Hall Hospital.

The A40 from the Tarell roundabout, Brecon to Sennybridge was closed until 3.30pm, following the crash.
