Learners who are due to start at a Powys Sixth Form this September are being urged to apply for a laptop to support with their studies, the county council has said.

New Year 12 learners qualify for a free laptop to support with their face to face and online (including e-sgol) Post 16 lessons after choosing to study at a Powys Sixth Form.

Now Powys County Council are urging those who are starting at a Powys Sixth Form in September to submit their application to receive a laptop.

Learners can apply by visiting www.powyslearningpathways.wales/free-laptop and have until Friday, July 2 to submit their application.

Cllr Phyl Davies, Cabinet Member for Education and Property, said: “Those students who will be studying at a Powys Sixth Form after the summer holidays qualify for a free laptop which they will be able to use during their time in sixth form.

“The 14” laptop is modern and fast and ready to turn on when learners need it. It will be their laptop for the whole time that learners are studying at sixth form – they can take it home or leave it in school.

“Learners will also be able to access all their digital learning resources via Hwb.

“I urge those students who will begin their sixth form education in September to submit their application for the free laptop by the closing date. The laptop will be essential for the courses they have chosen to study during their time at sixth form.”
