More than 150 of the world’s most provocative thinkers, pioneering scientists, celebrated philosophers and cultural commentators will gather for over 300 events, transforming this corner of the Welsh borders into one of the most intellectually dynamic destinations of the summer season.

This year’s programme reads like a who’s who of contemporary thought. Among the headliners speakers are: Jeremy Corbyn, a leading voice of the political Left and tireless activist; Slavoj Žižek, cultural theorist and master provocateur, award-winning director Martha Fiennes; Wikipedia’s founder Jimmy Wales; former Archbishop of Canterbury Rowan Williams; and Minna Salami, internationally acclaimed feminist thinker and author.

Every Spring Bank Holiday it welcomes a lineup of world-leading thinkers in philosophy, politics, science and the arts to its beautiful Hay-on-Wye festival site on the banks of the River Wye.
