Sheep Music’s family event, “Flock to the Meadow”, returns to Went’s Meadow, Presteigne, on Saturday, June 13, running from 3pm to 10.30pm:

The day promises a mix of live music, children’s activities, food, drink and entertainment.

Music comes from a diverse line-up, including Birmingham-based band Jambarolo, who bring an uplifting blend of Brazilian rhythms, samba, choro and forró, alongside influences from 1950s and 60s Brazilian artist Ary Lobo and the lively compositions of Mestre Cupijo. The group was founded by Louis Robinson, also known for Sheep Music favourites The Destroyers.

Jambarolo describe their sound as “fresh and fun”, adding: “We are coming with the joy and the bounce, with the swing and the sing, lift the gloom dig out your broom and slip on your dancing shoes!”

Also performing is Liz Ikamba, whose groove-driven style blends Afro-soul and folk with soulful vocals.

Throughout the afternoon, compere Loose Baker will be roaming the site running games and challenges before hosting the Giant Pub Quiz at 5pm. Teams of two to six can enter on the day or arrange in advance.

A dedicated children’s activity area will see John and Ruth Bray offering diabolo, juggling, staff work and fire juggling demonstrations in the evening, alongside arts activities from the Sidney Nolan Trust.

Food will be provided by a range of traders including Origin Pizza, Gyros, Lockdown Dhaba, Shepherds Ice Cream and the Sheep Music Tea Shack. A well-stocked bar will also serve local ales, lagers, wines and soft drinks.

The event takes place at Went’s Meadow Barn, Presteigne, LD8 2BW. Tickets cost £15 for adults, £10 for under 18s, while under 12s go free when accompanied by an adult.

They are available via https://wegottickets.com/f/18607 with cash tickets also available from The Salty Dog and The Workhouse Gallery in Presteigne.
