On Saturday, February 17, more than 150 musicians from the Army Cadet Force, Regular Army, Reserves, St John’s Ambulance and the Aberhonddu and District Male Choir will perform a musical spectacular like no other, as they take to the stage at Theatr Brycheiniog in Brecon.
With music to suit all tastes, spectacular fireworks and a touch of comedy from the compère, Captain Adrian Beckett MBE – this is certainly not an event to be missed.
Now in its 24th year and a firm favourite in the calendar at Theatr Brycheiniog, The Rorke’s Drift Concert is a highlight of the year for the young musicians of the Army Cadet Force.
All four corners of the UK will be on stage, with 14 Army Cadet Force counties, five Regular and Reserve units represented, an outstanding male voice choir and guests galore.
This year, the Rorke’s Drift Concert is thrilled to welcome the infamous Pipes and Drums of the Black Watch Battalion ACF and the glorious sounds of Brecon Male Voice Choir.
With music ranging from the lilting Ashokan Farewell to the beautiful Benedictus, in honour of Karl Jenkins’ 80th birthday, Mary Poppins to Wicked, as well as traditional Military Band music, jigs and reels from the Pipes and Drums, and the glorious harmonies of traditional Welsh voices, there will be something to satisfy every taste.
The finale, a specially arranged version of Abide With Me and The Last Post will bring together the Bands, Pipes, Drums and Brecon Male Choir in a unique performance like no other.
Join with us in this unique celebration of music and become part of the Rorke’s Drift Family.
Tickets are available from the Theatr Brycheiniog box office now, either by ringing 01874 611622 or visiting https://www.brycheiniog.co.uk/en
