The curtain rises early on this year’s Llandovery Carnival with a dazzling pre-Carnival event not to be missed.

On Friday, May 16, at 7pm, the Castle Hotel in Llandovery will host ‘Stars in Your Eyes,’ a lively talent night inspired by the classic TV show — and you’re invited to take centre stage.

Budding performers will step into the shoes of their favourite music icons for one unforgettable evening of costumes, character and chart-topping hits.

Whether singing live or lip-syncing with flair, contestants will channel stars from every era, from Freddie Mercury to Adele, Elvis to Lady Gaga, all for a chance to win a £100 cash prize and the roaring applause of a local crowd.

‘Stars in Your Eyes’ promises to be a highlight in the run-up to the annual Llandovery Carnival on Sunday, May 25, setting the tone for a weekend of community, creativity, and celebration.

The event is free entry and performers of all ages are encouraged to take part, go to the Castle Hotel Ballroom just before 7pm to put your name on the list.

A spokesperson for the Carnival team said: “Even if you’re not performing, come along and cheer on friends, neighbours and surprise local stars in an evening packed with energy, laughs, and feel-good vibes. It’s the perfect way to kick off this year’s Carnival, themed ‘As Seen on TV.’
