Knighton and District Rotary Club is running its Young Photographer competition once again this year.

Following the success of last year’s event, the club is again asking for youngsters from North Herefordshire, South Shropshire and Powys to take part in this year’s competition - which is free to enter.

“Colours of Nature” is this year’s theme. You can use your phone or camera but please try not to use too much ‘Photoshopping’ afterwards.

The theme can be interpreted in lots of ways. You could explore the nooks and crannies of your garden, in the branches of the trees, in vast landscapes or hiding under the undergrowth - there is colour everywhere.

The competition ends on January 31, 2022, when gift vouchers will be awarded to the best three entries in each age group and certificates will be sent to all entrants.

The age groups are: 6 to 11 years, 12 to 15 years, and 16 to 18 years.

Only one entry will be accepted per person, so decide which of your photographs best shows your skill and imagination.

Your photo needs to be less than 5MB in size and the Club will be looking for that something special.

Send your photo to [email protected], and if you need any advice then you can contact them through the email address to.

Please include your name, where you are from and why you love the photograph you are entering. Also, please leave some contact details as to where you can be contacted if you are a winner.

Remember if you take any photographs which include children you must obtain written permission from a parent or guardian to include them in your image.

All participants will hopefully be invited to an exhibition of the photographs and prize presentation - venue yet to be decided.

The club looks forward very much to seeing your photos - please note that by entering this competition you agree to Knighton and District Rotary Club using your photographs in future publicity.
