The family of a Crickhowell woman who died in a car crash have issued a tribute to her.

Sophie Brimble, aged 20, was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash in King Street, Brynmawr at around 12.25am on Wednesday, July 26.

The short message was released, on the family’s behalf, by Gwent Police which is investigating the incident.

The tribute said: "Sophie Brimble /Jenkins. Taken from us way to soon! Love you always! Always in our thoughts, forever in our hearts.

Love Mum, Daddy Andrew, Chloe, Rhys, Nan, Aimee, Ben and Zach.

A 24-year-old man, who was also in the black Volkswagen Polo car, remains in hospital in a critical condition.

Police said he was taken to the University Hospital of Wales in the Heath, Cardiff following the crash.

Specialist officers are supporting Sophie’s family.
