Advance tickets for this year’s Royal Welsh Winter Fair have gone on sale ahead of the two-day event at the Royal Welsh Showground in Llanelwedd.

The Winter Fair will take place on Monday, November 30 and Tuesday, December 1, bringing together livestock, food, shopping and entertainment.

Recognised as one of Europe’s leading prime stock shows, the event will feature cattle, sheep, pigs and horses, with exhibitors competing for championship titles and trophies.

Livestock entries remain open until Wednesday, October 7, with visitors also able to watch prize-winning animals go under the hammer during auctions on the final day.

Away from the show rings, competitions will include floral art, hounds, dressed poultry, eggs and pigeons, butchery, meat hampers, cookery, produce and handicrafts. The event will also offer Christmas shopping, with hundreds of trade stands selling gifts, crafts and other products.

The showground will remain open for late-night shopping on Monday, which will be followed by a pyro musical firework display at 7pm.

The Food Hall will showcase Welsh-produced food and drink, while the Gwledd | Feast area will feature Welsh street food, local producers and live music.

The Winter Fair will also welcome school and college groups, with educational activities focused on food production and rural careers. Santa’s Grotto will provide a festive attraction for younger visitors. Schools, colleges and universities must register group visits by October 12.

The Winter Fair opens to the public at 8am on both days.

Advance tickets for the event cost £24 for Monday, £22 for Tuesday and £5 for children, with under-fives admitted free. Royal Welsh Agricultural Society members can also access exclusive discounts.
