Royal Welsh Agricultural Society (RWAS) CEO Aled Rhys Jones has hailed this summer’s Royal Welsh Show as a “true celebration” for Wales.

The show took place at Llanelwedd from Monday, July 21 to Thursday, July 24.

"We've welcomed incredible crowds to Llanelwedd all week, with perfect conditions setting the stage for what has been a truly memorable show," said Mr Rhys Jones.

"The standard of livestock exhibits has been exceptional, and it's been fantastic to see new additions like the Heavy Horse Village proving so popular with visitors.

"Thousands of families have joined us, and it's been especially encouraging to see so many young people enjoying the show - the zipwire at the Armed Forces stand has been a real draw all week.

"Our sincere thanks go to Caernarfon, this year's feature county, and to all our loyal supporters who make this show so special year after year. Diolch o waelod calon."

Bluetongue restrictions prevented livestock exhibitors from England and Scotland attending this year’s Royal Welsh Show. However, RWAS President John R Owen praised the Welsh farming community for "stepping up to the challenge" with livestock of "exceptional quality".

“This demonstrates the resilience and quality that defines Welsh agriculture,” he said.
