Join multi-platinum singer-songwriter Fiona Bevan and acclaimed Scottish artist Adam Beattie for a double-headline evening on Wednesday, May 27, at 8pm at the Assembly Rooms in Presteigne.
The pair, who have recently completed a run of sold-out shows in London, Bruton, Margate, Norwich and Winchester, will appear in Presteigne as part of a tour celebrating new music releases.
Fiona Bevan will perform songs from her new EP Here Now Yes, a collection exploring hope and love against a political backdrop. Known for writing on piano and using distinctive guitar tunings, she creates what has been described as “otherworldly” melodies.
Adam Beattie will perform material from his new album Home Fires Burning, described as a homespun work exploring family, legacy and belonging. His music draws on traditional fiddle tunes from his childhood, reworked through finger-picked acoustic guitar.
Bevan, a Canadian-British singer-songwriter from Suffolk, has a cinematic dream-folk sound and a reputation as a songwriter behind major international hits. She achieved a number one album with Kylie Minogue and has written with artists including Lewis Capaldi, Ed Sheeran, Tom Walker, Steps and Aurora. Her co-write with Ed Sheeran, Little Things, became a number one hit in 13 countries for One Direction.
Beattie’s work has been praised for its intricate guitar style and reflective tone, with MOJO Magazine describing his songs as “uplifting reveries of love”. His previous album Somewhere Round The Bend was called “stirring folk balladry” by The Line of Best Fit, while Loud and Quiet described it as “mesmeric”. He has also collaborated with Birdy, Lulu and Michael Chapman, among others.
Tickets for the evening in Presteigne are £15, or £10 for under 25s, available online at wegottickets.com/event/691647 and from The Workhouse Gallery in Presteigne. The event is organised by Sheep Music.
