New food hygiene ratings have been awarded to eight of Powys’s establishments, the Food Standards Agency’s website shows.

Restaurants, cafes and canteens

The following ratings have been given to five restaurants, cafes or canteens:

• Rated 5: Spice Lounge at the Oak at The Oak Inn, Guilsfield, Welshpool, Powys; rated on November 26

• Rated 5: Starbucks Buttington Cross at Moors Farms, Oswestry Road, Welshpool, Powys; rated on November 26

• Rated 5: ESS Compass Services (UK) Ltd at Warrant Officers And, Sergeants Mess, Dering Lines, Brecon; rated on November 21

• Rated 5: Prince & Pugh Tea Room at 24 Broad Street, Knighton, Powys; rated on November 20

• Rated 4: The Bleddfa Centre at Old School House, Bleddfa, Knighton, Powys; rated on October 29

Pubs, bars and nightclubs

And three ratings have been handed to pubs, bars or nightclubs:

• Rated 5: Penybont Inn at Heol Giedd, Cwmgiedd, Ystradgynlais, Swansea; rated on November 28

• Rated 5: The Smithfield Bell at Mill Lane, Welshpool, Powys; rated on November 25
