A free community Herbal Walk will take place in Llandrindod Wells this Saturday, August 23, offering residents the chance to learn about the value of local herbs.

The event, organised by The Blackthorne Trust with herbalist Sally Owen, runs from 11am to 1.30pm at the Pomarium Community Orchard. It is supported by Trawsnewid Llandrindod ransition (TLT) and the Pomarium team.

Participants will be guided by Sally Owen, a specialist in local medicinal plants, and will learn how to recognise wild herbs and understand their histories, wellbeing benefits, and first-aid uses.

The walk also marks the completion of the community dehydrator, a new project built by The Blackthorne Trust in partnership with young people from Mid Powys Mind and TLT. The dehydrator will be available for everyone to use, helping to preserve fruit and herbs grown or foraged locally.

Organisers are encouraging people to bring a picnic and a bag for blackberrying, and to simply turn up on the day to take part.
