As we enter the New Year why don’t you dust off your running shoes and start 2024 by taking part in the Wales Air Ambulance’s My Air Miles challenge?

If getting fit whilst raising much-needed funds for the lifesaving charity sounds good to you, this virtual challenge could be perfect for you!

Wales Air Ambulance has launched its virtual ‘My Air Miles’ fundraiser which offers entrants an opportunity to run, jog or walk 25, 50 or 100 miles throughout January.

The fundraiser gives you a chance to take part from anywhere at any time. If you feel you need to burn off some turkey or just motivate yourself to get healthier this new year, this challenge could be the motivation you need.

Entry to take part in ‘My Air Miles’ is free, however if you raise £100 for the Wales Air Ambulance you will receive a ‘My Air Miles’ medal.

You don’t need to do the challenge alone you can join forces with family and friends to get your miles in. Schools and teams can also enter, any schools taking part will be sent a cuddly Del Dragon mascot to help you get through your miles.

Tracey Breese, Wales Air Ambulance’s events and partnership fundraiser, said: “My Air Miles is a wonderful way to start the new year. This time of year people set themselves new years resolutions, so why not set yourself a challenge to raise funds for the Wales Air Ambulance? You can pick how many miles you’d like to do and also whether you run, walk, jog or do a combination. The Wales Air Ambulance lifesaving charity needs to raise £11.2 million each year to keep our lifesaving helicopters in the air and our rapid response vehicles on the road, by taking part you can help us to continue to save lives throughout Wales.”

If you’d like to take part as a group, please email the Charity’s events team at [email protected] and let them know how many of you plan to take part.

If you would like to help the charity continue to save lives across our country this year, you can sign up to the challenge via My Air Miles 2024 Facebook group www.facebook.com/groups/897486635051301 and complete a registration form.
