The popular winter warmer event of the year returns to Hay-on-Wye next weekend with a glorious spread of farmhouse cheese, handmade chocolates, breads, Welsh Lamb, cider, beers, freshly-roasted chestnuts, specialist liqueurs and much, much more to tempt the tastebuds.

With 40 specialist food and drink producers congregating in the Memorial car park and the new cheese market against the backdrop of Hay Castle, this is the venue to be at to sample and buy organic bread from Caroline’s and Talgarth Mill, handmade chocolates from the Chocolate House, cakes from Gaynor’s Traditional Homemade Cakes, Cradoc Savoury Biscuits, bottled beers from Jacobi, Brecon and Rhymney’s breweries, cheeses from Blaenavon Cheddar, chilli sauces from Fat Man Chilli, meats from Glaisfer Uchaf Farm, Neuadd Fach Baconry, and Elan Valley, cider from Orgasmic and Pips and many, many more.

Now in its ninth year the event, which is part-funded by the Welsh Government, is free to enter. It is the perfect place to sit back, relax and enjoy the entertainment.

Shop at the Producer Fayre or relax in the many top cafes and restaurants in the town. With music and entertainment for all the family this is one of Hay-on-Wye’s main favourite winter dishes. You can also enjoy a varied programme of entertainment with music from the Builth ladies choir, Alive and Kicking Choir, Talgarth Male Voice Choir and the Brecon Town Band.

The festival is organised by local events specialist Andrew Powell courtesy of the BBNP and Hay Market’s John Evans.

The food festival takes place on Saturday, November 28 from 10am.
