Pedal power has helped a family-run ironmongers to success in a competition linked to the Tour of Britain cycle race.

Hafod Hardware in Rhayader won the best dressed shop window in Powys competition organised by Powys council’s marketing and tourism department. The display features a gold-plated Raleigh centenary cycle, which is one of 100 that were made, and Tour of Britain jerseys from the National Cycle Museum of Llandrindod Wells.

The Carad, Rhayader Museum and Gallery won the arts installation category for its Gigantes Tableaux at The Smithfield.
