Hay Festival Winter Weekend took place this weekend with the likes of Joanna Page and Raymond Blanc visiting the town.

Many book signings, talks and performances took place across the weekend, as well as the town’s Christmas Lights switch on, where Joanna Page did the honours.

Highlights of the weekend included politician Vince Cable; comedians Marcus Brigstocke, Rachel Parris and Mark Watson; political activist Maria Alyokhina; novelists Mick Herron, Sebastian Faulks, Oyinkan Braithwaite, Carlos Fonseca, Oscar Guardiola-Rivera, Cynan Jones, Nikita Gill and Natalie Haynes; journalists Imran Khan, Jehan Alfarra and Lyse Doucet, chef Raymond Blanc who spoke to Kate Humble; criminal psychologist Julia Shaw; and Fun Lovin’ Criminals frontman Huey Morgan.

Performances were made by Hay Shantymen and Thrill Collins.
