James Evans opened an event at the Senedd this week to mark the 80th anniversary of Victory in Europe (VE) Day.
The Brecon and Radnorshire MS paid tribute to all those who fought to restore peace and freedom across Europe during the Second World War.
He said it was vital that future generations understood the legacy of VE Day.
The ceremony, sponsored by Darren Millar MS, brought together Members of the Senedd, representatives from the Royal British Legion, and key veterans' organisations to remember those who served in British, Commonwealth, and Allied forces.
“VE Day reminds us of the extraordinary courage and sacrifice of those who fought to restore peace and freedom across Europe - we must never forget the cost of that victory,” said Mr Evans.
“This anniversary is a moment to honour not only the fallen but also the families and communities who carried the burden of war on the home front.
“It’s vital that future generations understand the legacy of VE Day and the importance of standing up for democracy, unity, and peace in our world today.”
