The closure of a Knighton road has been extended until the end of next week as a result of unforeseen additional work according to Powys County Council’s Highways Team.

The B4356 from Monaughty to Whitton has been closed since last Friday, August 24, to allow "concrete haunching works" on the road.

The highways team, which has been updating the progress of the road on Twitter, said it will now be closed until next Friday, September 7.

They put a statement on Twitter just before 1pm today which said: " B4356 Road closure from Monaughty to Whitton to be extended until 7th September due to unforeseen utilities and additional drainage work undertaken, we apologise for any inconvenience caused and thank you for your cooperation and patience AP."

They originally tweeted a picture with a warning about the road closure last week when the roadworks started.
