SOME of the best known faces in Welsh language television dropped into a local primary school in a bid to encourage more parents to raise their children bilingually. Children's favourite Sam Tan, of Fire Man Sam, was joined by Sali Mali and S4C's children's show host Martyn Geraint at the channel's roadshow at Sennybridge Primary School.
Youngsters from the school's reception class were joined by tots from Welsh medium schools Ysgol y Bannau, in Brecon, and Ysgol Gymraeg Ynysgedwyn in Ystradgynlais at the event that aimed to show parents that one of the advantages of bilingualism is that learning a language is fun. The tour, which stopped off at schools throughout Wales, was organised by S4C and Twf, a body supported by the Welsh Assembly which aims to raise awareness of bilingualism.
