Llandovery is delighted to welcome a host of talented performers to ‘Flowers, Food & Rainbows’ on Saturday, August 2 in its historic Market Square.
The Soapbox stage in the square will host a range of performances from diverse artists from all over Wales and will feature poetry, cover artists, drag queens, spoken word readings and Welsh folk music. Artists include Ice Amour, Karen Brewer, Dan Axe, Andromeda Belle, Danny Tose, Alun Saunders and Liam J Edwards.
Liam J Edwards, a non-binary 23-year-old originally from Swansea, now living in Cardiff, will headline the stage. The inventor of the Popera genre, they are a star who recently went viral with their rendition of Yma o Hyd on S4C’s Y Llais which has won them great acclaim. Reaching the final with singer Bronwen Lewis, Liam has achieved astronomical success playing high profile performances across Wales. Most notably performing main stage Pride Cymru 2025 and headlining Pride North Wales to a sold-out venue, they have also appeared on multiple chat shows and radio interviews.
Llandovery’s Market Manager Raoul Bhambral is thrilled to welcome all the performers: “Llandovery Producers Market will be open throughout the Pride event. We are delighted to be supporting such a range of young talent. The Market has always been very friendly and inclusive and open to all, which has meant a great deal to me as a gay man. We have a fantastic community spirit here and supporting Pride and these young performers is simply a further step in that direction. Llandovery Farmers Market is delighted to sponsor Liam J Edwards’ appearance at Llandovery Pride!”
Singer Bronwen Lewis said of Liam’s performance at Y Llais: “I see the classical, I see the pop, I see your aesthetic and I just really want to work with you.”
Ella Peel, Chair of Heart of Wales LGBTQ+ said: “We are so thankful to all our volunteers, supporters and sponsors who have helped make this event happen. This is a real grassroots effort of Welsh inclusivity that we should all be proud of. The day will also include an art exhibition, poetry and text readings in Welsh and English as well as craft making sessions. Alun Saunders, writer of Curiad Coll, the Welsh language adaptation of graphic novel and Netflix show HeartStopper will also join us from 12.30 in The Bluebell. There will be something for all the family, so do come and join us.”
The market runs from 10am-2pm but the performances continue until 6pm, when the Pride Cabaret begins in The King's Head.
Cllr Dorothy Burgess ran Llandovery in Bloom this year: “Llandovery in Bloom 2025 was held in July. It was an honour to visit the various gardens with the judge & Hybu Coordinators Maggi & Tiago, who took photographs. We were each amazed by the colourfulness, creativity, uniqueness and biodiverse gardens. There were 10 categories this year and we will award 1st, 2nd and 3rd place certificates and prizes to the winners from 1.30pm in Market Square. Llandovery Town Council would like to congratulate those who have won a prize, to thank all those who took part, and also to thank the judge & Hybu Co-ordinators.”
Market stalls will feature fresh veg from Black Mountain Itals, beef from The Welsh Farm, lamb, mutton and pork products from award-winning The Tegfan Farm, charcuterie from The Baker’s Pig, award-winning cheese from Bryngaer Goats Cheese and Ffynnon Wen Farm, honey from Mel Garreg Fechan, award-winning chutneys and marmalades from JAR’d, mushroom tinctures from new stallholder Mycobio Ltd, tasty gluten-free cakes from Tasty Local Cakes, doggie treats from Doggie Delights Pawlicious and wooden kitchenware from Coed Allt Goch OPD.
