Llandovery is set to come alive this summer with a series of Producers Markets running from July through September, showcasing the best local food, drink, and crafts.
The first market kicks off on Saturday, July 6, from 10am to 2pm in Market Square. Visitors can enjoy shopping for a wide range of locally produced goods while being serenaded by singer-songwriter James Rees from 12pm. Rees offers a versatile mix of folk and upbeat tunes, providing the perfect soundtrack to a summer shopping spree.
August promises an extra special market on Saturday, August 2, themed ‘Flowers, Food & Rainbows,’ in celebration of Llandovery in Bloom and Llandovery Pride. The day will begin with a Pride parade led by Mayor Huw Thomas, who will deliver a few words at 11am to officially launch the event. The colourful parade will wind through the town accompanied by a live band, before returning to Market Square for live music and festivities.
As evening falls, the King’s Head will host the much-anticipated Llandovery Pride Cabaret from 6pm. Tickets are available at https://shorturl.at/V8Ls6 for a night featuring performances from Fabergé, Anita Fag, Jorddropper, and Justin Drag - promising a memorable celebration.
Please bear in mind this is a cabaret event featuring adult themes and language. It is recommended for adults aged 18 and over. Anyone aged 16 or 17 must be accompanied by an adult aged 18 or older.
Organisers said they are thrilled to bring back the popular cabaret night following previous sellout events.
The day will also include the Llandovery in Bloom Awards Ceremony at 1:30pm on Market Square, recognising the town’s stunning floral displays that brighten the streets and lift the community’s spirits.
Music on the Square will continue until 6pm, wrapping up a lively and fun-filled day ahead of the cabaret.
