A nursery in Llandrindod Wells has raised over £2,000 for the Bracken Trust during a week of activities.

First Steps Nursery took part in Pink Week, a National Breast Cancer Awareness initiative, and raised a total of £2080 for the cancer support charity based in the town.

Everyone in the nursery played their part in raising the money through sponsorship activities.

The early years children walked around Llandrindod Lake, with some children walking as many as nine miles over the course of the week,

The toddler group walked around the block, clocking up a mile per day, and the babies danced to the song Baby Shark.

Owner Theresa Mills said: “A massive thank you to all of the parents and friends for the amazing sponsorship raised for the Bracken Trust Cancer Support Unit.

“This is an essential service in Powys funded completely by the community to support people with cancer and their families and I am very proud of every child who took part in this event.”
