Fresh from the success of their sold-out production of Oh What a Beautiful Evening, members of Llandrindod Wells Theatre Company swapped the stage for a local care home recently, taking a selection of songs from the show to entertain residents.
The company regularly visits Wylesfield Residential Home as part of its commitment to bringing live theatre to those who may not always be able to attend performances in person, and it is a tradition they love.
Residents were treated to favourites from the Golden Age of Broadway and MGM musicals, with many joining in with well-loved songs from productions including Oklahoma!, Calamity Jane, Annie Get Your Gun and Seven Brides for Seven Brothers.
Producer Mandy Davies said: "One of the things we love most as a theatre company is taking our performances into the community. We know that not everyone can come along to see our productions, so if we can bring a little bit of that magic to them, then it's something we're always delighted to do. Seeing people singing along, tapping their feet and reminiscing about these timeless songs reminded us exactly why we love performing. Music has an incredible way of bringing people together, and it was a privilege to share those moments with everyone."
Llandrindod Wells Theatre Company would like to thank the residents and staff for their warm welcome and looks forward to returning in the near future.
