Howey WI enjoyed a trip down memory lane recently when a well-known local town crier dropped in to give a talk.

Llandrindod Wells town crier Janice Swindale brought props, costumes, newspaper cuttings and photographs to show the WI group, which helped roll back the years and bring memories back.

Ms Swindale gave a fascinating talk about her life, beginning when she started training at age four dancing on stage, before progressing through pantomime, music hall and Victorian festival performances.

She has also taken parts in many charity events to raise money, as well announcing on national days of celebration and a Remembrance.

Many of the WI group have enjoyed the very professional and enjoyable performances given over the years by Ms Swindale, who seems tireless in her contagious enthusiasm.

Oyez, oyez, oyez! Long may she continue to entertain!
