A couple from Llandrindod Wells have marked 65 years of marriage, celebrating a lifetime that began in rural mid Wales and has taken them through farming, military service and local industry.
Brynmor and Alwen Davies were both educated at Builth Wells Grammar School in the 1950s before going their separate ways into work - Brynmor to a farm in Llanddeusant, and Alwen to office work at a garage in Builth Wells.
Their paths crossed again after Brynmor returned from National Service in 1955, during which he was stationed in Tripoli in North Africa.
The pair renewed their friendship and were married on March 31 1961 at Nazareth Chapel, Llangamarch Wells, with the Rev Trefor Williams officiating.
They began married life at 3 Barium Villas, Llangamarch Wells, before later moving to Llanwrtyd Wells. Brynmor went on to work on the railway and later at the woollen mill in the town, before retiring to Llandrindod Wells.
The couple have three daughters - Alison, Mair and Faleri.
