To help keep us all entertained during COVID-19 and while the theatre is closed, a group of local actors have come together to present “Murder in Fairy-tale Land” live over the internet.

Written and produced by Rosie Mellerick-Wheeler, the show is a silly whodunit featuring a cast of local talent from Ghostlight Performers and Theatr Wildcats.

Blending live performances with pre-recorded elements, the cast will be spread over seven different locations live via Zoom, while you can enjoy the fun from your sofa!

Rosie explains “I am passionate about theatre and had been finding it very frustrating not to be able to carry on as normal during the Pandemic. Producing this show has not only enabled us to bring live performances back to Brecon, but has allowed us to create an event that combines the talents of a wider range of performers than we would normally be able to have in a single show.

We are all looking forward to when Theatr Brycheioniog is able to reopen, but in the mean-time events like “Murder in Fairy-tale Land” and the other community projects in Brecon are helping to support the community in this difficult time.

Tragically at the beginning of lockdown Theatr Wildcats lost a much loved member to COVID-19 – Sharon Wieland. This show is raising money to pay for a lasting memorial for her.”

Ghostlight Performers (formerly known as Chorus Line) is a local theatre group offering drama lessons for people of all ages.

Theatr Wildcats is an inclusive theatre company, and the group members use drama, music, movement and dance as a way to get their voices heard.

The show will run for six performances, 6pm and 8pm 31 July, 1 & 2 August. Tickets are £10 per device from www.ticketsource.co.uk/ghostlight
