A 7-year-old girl has raised over £200 for the homeless by selling cakes in her village.

Millie Guy, from New Radnor, decided a few weeks ago she wanted to raise money to support people without permanent homes.

She came up with the idea of holding a cake stall to raise much-needed funds.

Sharon Simcock, who runs the Esco’s in New Radnor, agreed for her to hold her stall outside her shop on Saturday, January 28.

Within 50 minutes, Millie had sold out of cakes and treats and has now raised over £250 to send to Shelter.

Shelter is a charity which helps people in housing need by providing advice and practical assistance, and campaigns for better investment in housing and for laws and policies to improve the lives of homeless and badly housed people.

Well done and thank you to Millie for using her initiative and showing how generous the people of Powys can be!
