A walker in Neuadd Valley required assistance last week after suffering from the intense heat during their hike.
Central Beacons Mountain Rescue Team and Brecon Mountain Rescue Team were called out at around midday on Friday, 22 August to assist the walker.
The two teams swiftly located the walker and their companion. Cooling treatment was administered and the team’s then stretchered the walker to an awaiting Welsh Ambulance at the Neuadd road end.
While the incident was concluding, Central Beacon Mountain Rescue Team were alerted to another incident. The second callout of the day was to a walker with an ankle injury on the footpath from Pont ar Daf car park.
After rejigging resources, the team successfully concluded the first incident while getting personnel into vehicles and to the second incident. Rescue team members brought the injured person to the car park before heading back to base.
A spokesperson from Central Beacons Mountain Rescue Team said: “We of course wish both casualties from today a speedy and full recovery.”
