ONLY Kids Aloud chorister Sophie Jones has described as frightening a flight to Heathrow struck by a sickness bug at 40,000 feet.

Sophie Jones, who is 11 and from Heol Senni, was one of 65 members of the Welsh children's choir which was swept by a sickness bug on their return flight from South Africa, via Dubai.

The Sennybridge Primary School pupil was unaffected but many of the group, aged 10 to 14, fell ill with diarrhoea and vomiting during the seven hour flight from Dubai and 12 children were taken to a London hospital after landing.

Sophie said: "We had been to Cape Town and it was exciting but frightening at the end."
