If you’re lucky enough to not be working over the Christmas period, you may be feeling a bit bored just two days after the main event, which is why we have compiled a few ideas of what to do from now until New Years!

Here are few ideas if you’re in need:

1. Relaxation

The week between is a great time for relaxation. Consider watching films and series or perhaps read a book or take a long bath to unwind.

2. Get active

If you’ve had enough of lounging around, get outside and get active perhaps with a long walk. Consider taking on routes in Bannau Brycheiniog, but make sure to be prepared for your outings with a sufficient amount of layers, food and drink, and be sure to call mountain rescue if you find yourself in difficulty.

Why not get a head start on those New Year’s resolutions, whether you want to start something new, or pick up an old hobby, now is a great time to give it a go.

3. Productivity and Planning

Perhaps you got a new calendar for Christmas, why not schedule in your plans already? Or even better make new plans, maybe a holiday or some days out.

Now is a great time to declutter your house, have a clear out and get organised to start off the new year. Are you hosting a New Year’s party? You may want to use this time to be prepared with snacks and drink; making or buying!

How about having a go at baking something for your family and friends, could be a classic recipe or something completely new. Use books, TikTok or YouTube for inspiration and help.

4. Fun and games

Continue the festive fun with either a Christmas quiz, family board game, computer game and more. Who doesn’t love a 4-5 hour long game of Monopoly? Have a look out for some fun activities or events in Brecon and Radnorshire that you and family or friends could go along to. But be aware of opening times in this period!

5. Out and about

You could always get out and go for lunch at a cafe or restaurant in the area (again be aware of opening times) or you could even take one last stroll around Brecon or other towns in the area and take in the Christmas Lights before they’re taken down.

Be sure to let us know what you get up to and share your ideas with us.

Why not drop by and visit some family and friends if you haven't already seen them over the Christmas period.
