Would you like to take in the great outdoors under the light of the moon, with the chance of seeing the night sky in all its glory?
St David’s Hospice Care is staging its Moonlight Walk up and down the highest mountain in the Breacon Beacons, Pen Y Fan.
The family-friendly walk up the 2,907 ft mountain is being held on the evening of this Friday, July 2.
The walk is a wonderful opportunity to introduce the younger members of the family to the great outdoors at night time. Adults and children can walk by night in the knowledge that their safety is paramount to the experienced mountain team.
Online registration has now closed, but they are still accepting registration on the night of the event from 7pm.
The walk starts at Pont ar daf car park (Grid Ref 988199, Postcode LD3 8NL), on the A470 between Brecon & Merthyr Tydfil.
Walkers will gegin the ascent of Pen y Fan between 7.30pm and 8.30pm, with sunset at 9:30pm
The entry fee is £15 per person and £5 for under 16s. Families are welcome, and under 16’s must be accompanied by a responsible adult, and parental consent must be given.
Participants will all receive free glow sticks and a “Moonlight Walk” certificate will be issued at the end of the walk.
