Resurfacing works on a key stretch of the A40 in Crickhowell have been pushed back until mid-April, the Welsh Government has confirmed.
The overnight closures, which were previously due to begin in late February, have been delayed due to design changes to a pedestrian crossing included in the scheme.
A Welsh Government spokesperson said the revised programme means works will not start until mid-April, with the exact date to be announced once confirmed.
The scheme will see a section of the A40 between Standard Street and the Manor Hotel access closed overnight while resurfacing and associated improvements are carried out.
The closure will now affect all traffic - including cars, cyclists, pedestrians and even livestock - while the works are underway.
It is anticipated the road will be closed nightly from 7pm to 7am, although officials say they will engage with local councillors and residents closer to the start date before finalising the arrangements.
