BBC’s Question Time is coming to Brecon next week for a post-Senedd election special.

On Thursday, May 14, the programme will bring a panel of politicians and public figures to face questions from a local audience.

People who apply to be in the studio audience are asked to submit two potential questions for consideration on the night. The programme says that audience members are selected to reflect a broad range of political views, with producers aiming for a balanced mix based on voting record, party affiliation and referendum choices.

Applicants may be contacted on the Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday before the recording, although organisers say not everyone will be called due to high demand.

Anyone who has been in a Question Time audience in the past five years is asked not to apply again, to allow new attendees the chance to take part. However, previous applicants who were not successful are encouraged to try again.

Applications can be made online at https://eu.castitreach.com/ag/mentorn/questiontime/welcome.html or by phone on 0330 123 9988.

Questions are not fixed in advance. Audience members submit them on the night, with producers selecting those reflecting the most popular topics. The chair may also invite spontaneous questions or comments during the programme.
