Fay Jones MP has been reselected by members as the Conservative Party candidate for the new constituency of Brecon, Radnor and Cwmtawe.
Ms Jones said: "I am overjoyed to be reselected. Over the last three years, I’ve put my heart and soul into this job and while it has been far from easy, it’s been more rewarding that I could ever have imagined.
"Together as a team with James [Evans] our Welsh Parliament member and Iain [McIntosh] our chairman, we have achieved an enormous amount. But we are only just getting started; I am hugely ambitious for the future. I want to carry on raising Brecon and Radnorshire’s profile in Parliament; speaking up for the needs of communities who are often forgotten about. "I am also excited about representing a new part of the constituency. Presuming the new boundaries are adopted, I am looking forward to providing residents in the Upper Swansea valley with a real champion. Someone who will never take their votes and their concerns for granted.
"During my Maiden Speech in January 2020, I said that when I became the Member of Parliament for Brecon and Radnorshire, I won first prize in the lottery of life. That’s as true today as it was then. I am so grateful to all Association Members for their support.
"I look forward to working with you all in future."
Following last week's meeting Association Chair Iain Mcintosh said:“I am delighted Fay Jones MP has been reselected as the prospective parliamentary candidate for Brecon, Radnor and Cwmtawe.
"Fay has been a tremendous Member of Parliament for us, constantly campaigning for the needs of all residents and raising our constituency’s profile in the House of Commons.
"I look forward to helping her campaign as we head towards the next general election and hope to have her continue the hard work she has been doing here well into the future.”
