Pontfaen YFC enjoyed a packed and successful weekend of sporting events across Powys.

On Friday evening, members took part in the county pool and darts competition held at Brecon Rugby Club. In the pool competition, Chloe Cottle-Watkins won the female singles, while Rhys Lewis secured runner-up in the men’s singles. Chloe continued her strong form in the ladies darts, earning another first-place win, and Will Prosser triumphed in the men’s singles darts. The pair also teamed up in the darts doubles, achieving an impressive second place.

The weekend's sporting spirit continued on Sunday, with members travelling once again to Brecon for the County Sports Day. The ladies’ netball team played well, securing second place after a series of strong matches. In the men’s five-a-side football, Pontfaen emerged victorious, winning exciting games against Trecastle, Sennybridge, and a mixed team. The team was Will Prosser, Will Herdman, Luke Price, Joel Price and Liam Powell. Tyler Breslin, Lewis Williams and Rhys Lewis enjoyed playing for a mixed club team.

The senior rounders team capped off the day with a win, thanks to excellent teamwork and fielding throughout. With junior members busy playing rugby for their clubs, Pontfaen didn’t field a team in the junior rounders, but Connie enjoyed taking part alongside Sennybridge YFC members

Pontfaen has also congratulated members who play for Brecon RFC - Brodie Davies, Josh Witcomb, Kaiden Witcomb, Isaac Norbury, and Darren Allsop - who won the plate in the Under-12s competition held in Brecon.
