The leader of Powys County Council has completed a reshuffle of the council’s cabinet responsibilities.
Councillor Rosemarie Harris announced the cabinet responsibilities yesterday after two members of the previous cabinet resigned last week.
The portfolio holders are: Aled Davies as the deputy leader and portfolio holder for finance, countryside and transport; Myfanwy Alexander for adult social care and Welsh language; Graham Breeze for corporate governance and engagement; Phyl Davies for education and property; James Evans for economic development, housing and regulatory services; Heulwen Hulme for environment; and, Rachel Powell for young people and culture.
Yesterday Cllr Harris said: ”The changes that I am announcing today will come into force with immediate effect and are designed to give cabinet members new challenges and wider experience of all council operations.
“The cabinet will continue for the time being with eight members with some changes necessary in portfolio holder responsibilities.
“We have a significant agenda as a cabinet. As a number of strategic programmes start go gather pace, I will be keeping a number of cabinet members under review and may seek to increase the number to ten in due course.”
