STRIKING public sector workers from across Powys were set to stage a mass rally as part of a UK wide day of industrial action.

A march was due to be held through Llandrindod Wells on Wednesday, November 30 ahead of the rally at the town's Pavilion while the action looked set to close nearly all of the county's schools.

Other council services also faced disruption and the county's health board and Dyfed Powys Police also warned of expected reductions in service.
